The Genesis of the Solar System | ASMR
To birth the solar system, you must first invent the universe. - something Carl Sagan probably would've said.
The creation of the solar system is a tale of cosmic evolution that spans billions of years. According to the currently accepted Nebular Hypothesis, approximately 4.6 billion years ago, a vast molecular cloud, possibly 65 light-years across and primarily composed of hydrogen, helium, and traces of heavier elements, floated in the dark depths closer to the center of our then-young Milky Way Galaxy. This enormous nebula, was the cradle of our solar system.
A significant event, perhaps a nearby supernova explosion, disturbed the calm of this nebula, causing it to collapse under its own...

▸ Want to leave a tip or connect?: linktr.ee/letsfindoutasmr Tonight is a look across the Universe. We begin with the first ever gravitational lensed galaxy found in the 1980's in the galaxy cluster, Abell 370 to another Hubble Deep Field and the size and characteristics of the Universe at the largest scales. Then we go down to the subatomic and see how light interacts with matter and how all e...
(3 Hrs) Reading 1950's Science Comics (Rockets, Atoms, Electricity, Lightbulbs, History)

Tonight we're reading four issues of GE's 1940's and 50's "Adventures in Science" comic series. First, we travel almost 300 years into the past, to pre-industrial America and compare it to daily life in 1950's America. After this we read about the history and science of the light bulb and how that's changed society. Then we discover how rockets work, and how they transport both scientific satel...

This was a series of educational comics produced after WW2 by the technology company GE (General Electric), about historical developments in science and technology. We have 24 comics about space, atomic physics, electricity, power, jet engines, light, and future technology predictions from the 40's and 50's. I love these older educational materials. because they were so well made. IBM, GE and e...

Green noise is known as the best natural ambient noise. Probably most similar to the jet-engine hum of an airplane or a busy highway from a distance, it's also like being inside a cozy room during a heavy rain, being on top of a windy mountain, or hearing the mesmerizing sound of a distant, roaring waterfall. Green noise is a variant of white noise with some of the higher frequencies muted. I u...

@@LetsFindOut1 btw, just a tiny error I found, I thought I'd let you know, the stars around us now, like Proxima Centauri, did not form in the same molecular cloud. The solar system revolves around the milky way once every 250 million years. And so during it's life it made many revolutions, so all the stars our sun formed with, have scattered long ago. 💫

Astrophysicist here… I tend to avoid these types of videos because, without sounding arrogant, they usually go over these topics at such a surface level that I find them tedious and frustratingly boring. This was far from that… everything was extremely well described and to a level that made it engaging, even for someone that is well versed on these topics. I found myself gleefully nodding along as you began to delve into the ideas that I have been lucky enough to study in detail. What an extremely well made video, well done 👏

The way I’ve always made sense of the universe and the parts we can’t fathom because they’re beyond our capability for knowledge is sort of like “Horton Hears a Who”. Everything smaller and smaller are circles or spheres or some amalgamation circling another one. Everything celestial, while all having different properties, are also essentially just amalgams orbiting others. So maybe our universe exists in a quark, or an atom of a compound in a larger world, and maybe someone else’s exists in a place where time takes less toll. Maybe space is like a cytoplasm, and we’re part of the cell that isn’t supposed to be allowed to diffuse across the membrane. Whatever the case, I think therefore am; and as strange as this portion of the Milky Way might be, it’s also cool enough to never be bored.
